Artists are guides for park stroll
When Bob Clements and Bill Pierson host this weekend's edition of "Saturday Strolls at Harris Shoals," they'll aid patrons in capturing memorable images of what they see in the park.

Clements and Pierson - both accomplished artists and teachers - will speak to those assembled about sketching the beauty and mystery of Harris Shoals, located not far from downtown Watkinsville.
"I really like the running water and botanical studies there," said Pierson, whose website www.sketchnature.com offers an excellent representation of his watercolor and acrylic work.
"There are interesting arrangements of lines coming down trees and light in the background. There are a lot of different studies you can do on plant life and the stream. It's a very nice place."
The hourlong stroll begins at 9 a.m. The fee is $5 per person, and those age 18 and younger are admitted free. Money collected from this stroll - which is one in a three-month series that ends July 31 - will be donated to the Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation, of which Clements and Pierson are members.
